| Neuropsychology |
|
Neuropsychology studies the relationship
between brain and behaviour. Neuropsychologists
usually work with people who have known or
suspected problems with the functioning of the
brain, whether from a traumatic brain injury,
stroke, developmental brain abnormality,
dementia, or a wide range of other disorders. A
neuropsychological evaluation includes testing
of memory, language abilities, attention,
problem solving, spatial relations, and other
functions of the brain. A formal assessment of
personality and emotional factors may also be
included to give a broad picture of a person's
functioning. Some neuropsychologists also work
in rehabilitation, helping people to improve
their functioning after suffering brain damage -
